Our qualified technicians performed a refrigerator repair in San Jose, California. The customer’s refrigerator AMANA had an issue with the evaporator fan not working and not defrosting. Fuse specialists checked the defrost timer, and it looked good but they replaced it anyway. Then they started the defrost cycle and evaporator coil melted snow and ice. After that, the evaporator fan motor stopped working. Our techs checked the incoming voltage to the fan motor and saw that incoming voltage is 56VAC. There were also some bad contacts. However the frozen defrost thermostat showed 4 MOhms of resistance. For that reason the voltage and power should have been cut. Finally, our techs replaced defrost thermostat and the evaporator fan motor started working perfectly fine.
